Get Rid Of Windows Operating System- get Ubuntu

With the service pack 2 of Windows XP illegal users of this operating system started to have a lot of problems. Yeah I know using software illegally is wrong, morally unjust, it’s more closely related to robbing and I am a thief but then again it is difficult for me to get a commercial copy of the operating system.

Why I use a pirated copy, well the reasons range from I don’t have money, there are no vendors in my city, it’s not worth it, its too expensive, I don’t want to give money to the richest man on the planet. The reasons can be any of the above or some other but the end result is we are not paying for the software. And this is a crime.

I would have continued with these practices of mine but then I saw a friend of mine using Linux’s Ubuntu. It’s for the humans, which are what they are saying. Well after having a brief look at it I was in its favor. I ran to my laptop, started downloading a copy and came to a great discovery. Well if you want Ubuntu, the guys will even send you the cd/dvd free of cost. I asked for 15 as I would distribute them to the people I knew. And that’s what I did.

So, let’s talk about Ubuntu. The question that might be springing in your mind will be that why is someone giving an operating system free of cost and bearing the shipping as well. Well, for that you will have to take a closer look at the Open Source movement and then you will be able to understand properly. As to the question that is it worth it, well the answer is a yes and a no. If you want to change the way you work and are interested in learning then Ubuntu is the thing for you. It has the best features developed outside. Apple’s OS will have it next year with some added features while Windows will have it further down the road and will claim it to be their own. Well in fact, both of these organizations will develop the features by reverse engineering the things made by the Linux producers. First it was Linux’s Red Hat and now it’s Ubuntu. This is one other reason why I urge you to move to Ubuntu.

An Ubuntu operating system is always going to out play its commercial counterparts by the sheer power behind it. The man power behind the open source regime might be ten folds greater than those employed by the commercial giants (you know I am talking about Microsoft, aren’t you). There are so many developers doing so many things that the end result is great.

Enough about the open source team and the wonderful things they have done over the years, more about why Ubuntu. Well, the biggest reason will be that there are 99 times less malware threats on Ubuntu. The .exe file attacks and other backdoor activities are all bogus against Ubuntu. Ubuntu works on a different system and thus these attacks are rendered harmless by the framework of the operating system.

It will also be a good choice for your operating system as it comes loaded with a host of free softwares that are top of the notch. I am going to list only the 3 basic and most important one.

1                    Firefox è web browser

2                    VLC     è media player

3                    Open Office è an office suite

Well, with these freebies and the option of no threat from malwares, adware’s or spywares or any other kind of wares, I think Ubuntu is a good option. More about Ubuntu some other time.
